May 3, 2020 will mark the third year anniversary of Akia Eggleston's disappearance. The case continues to generate national media coverage, but there are still no answers as to what happened to the 22-year-old mom. Akia, a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, was eight months pregnant when she vanished four days before her baby shower was to take place. We were first to obtain exclusive images of Akia captured by a security camera from a bank in the Inner Harbor on May 3, 2017, that's the day investigators believe she disappeared. Investigators also suspect foul play and have reportedly interviewed over 100 individuals, but they have not named any suspects and there have been no arrests in the case. Much has been said about the man believed to be the father of Akia's unborn child. The man, who was also a childhood friend of Akia's stepfather, has never spoken publicly about his alleged relationship with Akia or about her disappearance. There are plenty of rumors, speculation, and gossip circulating on social media, but if there is evidence that directly ties him or anyone to Akia's disappearance, investigators are keeping their cards very close to the vest. Since police have not publicly released his name, we are not publishing it on this site, either. However, through our reporting, we've been able to confirm that the individual and his current girlfriend and mother of at least two of his children, have been questioned twice by Baltimore City Police. I recently made contact with someone who knows the man believed to be the father of Akia's unborn son. The source asked not to be identified but did share with me that he has not spoken to the individual in person since Akia disappeared and does not want him around his family. The source also explained that he has spoken at great length with authorities and with Akia's stepfather. Below is some of what the source said: "I only knew Akia for a short time but grew up with her step dad when I was in elementary school. I have nothing but love and hope for him, and I hope that he finds her cuz whatever happened ain't right. I have a daughter, and I can't imagine my daughter missing and her not being found." The source says that he doesn't know where the individual is currently living but finds it hard to believe that he would've harmed Akia. "I'm not happy about Akia missing and him avoiding the situation. I would never support a tragedy like this. He's not that type of person to harm or have someone missing." Why hasn't the alleged father of Akia's baby contacted her step-father or helped search for her or made a public plea for her safe return? To that the source said the following: "If I ever see him I'd probably punch him in the face cuz if he didn't do it, he should have said something. This is crazy, but he not gonna talk to me cuz he know people gonna ask me first about him, and I already been to the police station and talked to the FBI for 4 hrs." The source stressed that he doesn't want his name made public because he has a family and doesn't want to be harassed. On a final note he said this about Akia: "I talked to her stepdad and told him everything I know that he asked. That is all I have to say, and, again, I hope and pray to God that she is found safe and alive!" Our calls and messages left for the man believed to be the father of Akia's son have gone unanswered. If he's reading this, hopefully he and/or his girlfriend will reach out to us. They deserve a chance to be heard. Baltimore City Police have reportedly narrowed their focus down to about a dozen individuals, but they have yet to name any suspects in the case. As they stated to me from the start of this investigation, "This is a real whodunnit." Anyone with information on Akia Eggleston's whereabouts is urged to call Baltimore City Police at 410-396-2499. A combined $25,000 reward is being offered in this case. You can follow our exclusive ongoing coverage of Akia Eggleston's disappearance on this site and also on Youtube.

I came here from your YouTube video hoping for an update. I truly believe the father of her child had her thinking they were moving in together. I also think he took the money she withdrew and subsequently murdered her because he either had a girlfriend and didn’t want her to know he had a child on the way or he just didn’t want a child. Either way, he did it. I just wish her family had closure. Poor girl and baby.

You know nothing. If you weren't an eyewitness to something or a confidant of the guy you're accusing, then you know nothing.

Yea sorry I think it was her baby daddy! Even if you don’t want a relationship with someone but you care about that person or that person carrying ur child, you not gonna do nothing. I u dee stand not wanting the world to know you name for some privacy. But if he cared he would be helping the family the media wouldn’t need to know, but the family said he won’t even talk to them. So honestly he has some part in this! The friend who driver her around had nothing to do with it because her alibi and info was prove. Plus the cops were lying saying she went to five banks when she only went to one. Idk how or why he killed her, but he is the most obvious person, he also has a girlfriend with kids so he was with her for awhile, if this girl had a baby with DNA in this time, she could make have put everything in his life on fire, and he couldn’t let that happen. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but his actions are showing ppl he did this, by acting like he could care less and running off and ducking!

Bee: YOU are the one that needs to shut up. THINKING someone committed a crime is not proof! Exactly what facts do you possess that PROVE who committed this crime? If in fact you do have proof then turn it over to the police so they can make an arrest. If you don't have proof then shut up and keep your unsubstantiated allegations to yourself. A mind is a terrible thing to waste...

The number one cause of death in pregnant women is murder by the father of the baby.

i agree with you. the father of her baby had something to do with it. why would a grown man say they are moving in together somewhere that doesn't exist? the police are acting like rookies. press him harder...or his gf. but i believe she is dead and he killed her and his gf knows more...

I just watched the Investigation Discovery episode about Akia and I can’t imagine the sadness and frustration her family and friends are experiencing. I hope her little girl has a lot of love and support surrounding her. As time passes, it is hard to stay positive but it is what keeps hope alive. I will keep her and her baby boy in my thoughts and fingers crossed for a resolution.

I watch a lot of Crime TV shows and when I say a lot I mean a lot from investigation discovery to snap to every show out there that has to do with crime as I'm looking at this story I see that the cops pull the image of her from the bank they also showed the distance from the bank and to her apartment is there no cameras from somebody's house from the stores from the traffic cams from the gas stations that can actually track her car for them to see where she went and where she stopped I got this idea of a TV show called Web of Lies also off of another incident of a little girl going missing and they used every camera around to pinpoint her every location off of each camera now I do feel like the cops are being light nobody think that a polygraph test on the girlfriend and the baby daddy should be taken? Nobody think that a polygraph test on the friend that was driving her around should be taken there's a hole in her wall at the apartments there's Furniture missing nobody decided Well we should contact the trash Guys and see if they picked up any other bulky items on this day there's a lot of questions that need answers on why the cops haven't done this stuff yet and if they did maybe they're keeping it to they self but from what I read and from what I saw nothing's been done. And the friend said that she was moving away with the child's father and her unborn child why wouldn't she take her daughter with her that part just didn't add up to me. She withdrew $500 now you can't get very far and $500 so somebody must have told her to go inside the bank and withdraw the money and she gave it to them or maybe she got the money to lend it out it's not making any sense what she would need that for also did anybody talk to the bank teller that dealt with her how was her mood did she seem agitated did she seem scared that she seemed like she was in pain

I definitely agree, very great questions that need answers! I really hope her family gets closure some day and I pray that Akia is still alive and well including her son. You know you’re crime tv. I feel everything you said. Especially the cams leading up to the bank , so they will have some sort of timeline. The polygraphs tests on all known suspects in the case as well .Even from past personal relationships wether spousal or friendship wise.

You’re joking right? Have you ever been to Baltimore? There are barely any cameras anywhere. If you watch tons of crime shows, I feel like you’d know that.

You’re bugging. I live in Baltimore and there are vid cameras everywhere, every corner. They could, at the very least, follow her movements from the bank until they can’t bc there’s no vid footage. But you’re 100% wrong in saying there’s no video cameras. That’s actually laughable...

I just stumbled onto this story and I am extremely saddened and shocked because we are here and Maryland know the area well and this story did not get the exposure it should have. We should be seeing this story on a regular basis. So sad. She is clearly well loved. Trace the money!!!!

I think the police need to trace the footprints of the person that helped her moved the furniture and other belongings and her bank card. Also did they go to the new apartment and found out information. I dont hear anything about the roomate who stayed with her.

There is no way the step father did it!! He is genuine!! The baby daddy did it because he had a gf and kids. He was never gonna move in with her like he lead her to believe!! He had motive!! He did it. The police need to press this guy and his gf because they both know.

I agree with the first commenter. Its sad that these things are showing up in the black communities and becoming common place. No,I'm not naive, I know this can happen in any community but there was a time when you could say jokingly that you knew that wasn't a black person. Now it's no joke and nobody is laughing. Let's all pray that one day her family can get some relief from the not knowing.

For everyone commenting that the boyfriend did it …you’re right! He was arrested and charged with her murder as well as his unborn child. May he rot in jail and then go straight to hell.

Has anyone thought about a baby stealing theory? Maybe someone saw her at the bank and saw how far along she was. Wanted/needed a baby and abducted her to take the baby. There have been cases like this before.

Ok upon further research her mom passed in 2012, but the baby daddy must be further investigated. Its someone very close to her no doubt!

This missing woman's mother passed away I believe of cancer and left the missing woman some money, probably an insurance policy. The missing woman, according to "Dateline" had told a few people her mother left her money. This is a sad case.

I was thinking the same thing, where is her mother, maybe she's not living anymore I dunno but I found that odd too! Also they said they got together to see how long it'd been since they talked to her and he said they came up with 3 days.im sorry but I talk to my kids daily, numerous times sometimes. Especially if my daughter was pregnant I cnt see any of of not talking to her in 3 days. But maybe she didn't have a phone. I hate it so bad for the family I pray they find some answers and get closure. 5/25/2021 11:49:39 pm
yes I think the step-dad no more than he saying maybe him and his friend help her move maybe he do no than what he telling either way they did not want the baby born its gotta be more 2 the story Rih Beautiful and your child i hope closure for the family

Statistically there is a high probability that it was the boyfriend just because in murder it’s usually the significant other as well as in the case of pregnant women getting killed.

The key is probably in the missing furniture Why we're they missing? I say there may have been evidence on them so the furniture was removed. Along with Akia. This is just a guess. what about the character of the woman pregnant at the same time? Could this be a motivator to eliminate her? I pray for her Soul and those that decided to emove her from her family n friends. You have no divine power so you shall pay eventually.

Have the police done all those CSI checks for blood where the furniture was removed? A hole in the wall? The building maintenance guy is a strong suspect for me as well as the baby daddy. His behavior afterwards is suspicious. How horrible to do this.

If they tear down some of the houses in the hood part of Baltimore they might find bodies. It really smells like rotating flesh just driving through there.
