Since we first published our exclusive story on Akia Eggleston in September, many news outlets — national, online, and radio — have taken interest in her case. CrimeWatch Daily aired a story on Akia and mentioned a possible person of interest in her disappearance, but police did not identify the individual in the piece. A month after Akia vanished, I interviewed Akia's close friend Cici Diaz. Miss Diaz stated that her cousin is the father of Akia's baby and that his girlfriend had been harassing Akia. She said the two women couldn't stand each other. Miss Diaz also stated that the woman had been sending Akia threatening text messages. However, our sources indicate that both the father of Akia's unborn child and the woman have been interviewed by investigators and are not suspects. In a bizarre twist, people posting on a FB page for this case claim the woman, who was allegedly harassing Akia, has not shown up for work and that friends and colleagues have been unable to get in touch with her. The national media attention this case is now getting is long overdue and will hopefully lead to answers for Akia's family. Don't forget, Akia was 8-months pregnant and also has a three-year-old daughter who misses her mom and will one day want to know what happened to her. That little girl deserves answers.

I feel too many in Baltimore are disapearing without a trace and something needs to be done. This family deserves closer and answers. Baltimore needs to regroup and get some professional team players such as forensic scientists and people who care about doing their jobs. I've never seen so many just vanish in all my life, this wouldn't be happening in Georgia. We need answers, why aren't these city officials doing a more thorough job??

How can you say that this doesnt happen in Georgia i dont live there but it seems to be you who are completely disconnected this is happening to much everywhere and open mind solves cases without undue blame. You cant blame the people you are expecting to try and help you anyway.

You said not in Georgia? Have you forgotten or have you heard of the Atlanta Child Murders??? Over 30 murders of young black kids. Yes, they arrested Wayne William's but there is still speculation as to him being the only person. The true murderer could have moved to another location...So yes this did occur in Georgia!

Has anyone thought to look thru her online search history and look at who and where she was purchasing “ this house” from? There are many “fake” house ads where posters are giving a description of the house but not with a real pic of the home. Wondering with this type of money in her possession was she told to bring a deposit on the home and catfished??

Wow, that makes a lot of sense. That's really something to check on and.....did they check around this house? Basement and wooded areas?

I think that its a little weird that the lady that was harassing Akia disappeared too. I know that it's is supposedly impossible because she proved not to be a suspect, but when you're dealing with a case like this you need to really use all of your information as much as you can. I mean a good motive is that she hated Akia and was even angrier that she was going to have a baby with her boyfriend so she decided to make her "disappear". You also need to consider her baby's father. He could be an accomplice with that women. The motive for this that he some hidden feelings of hate for Akia and didn't want her to have his baby. Think about it. He had a perfect opportunity to kidnap her and hide her away. He just needed to ask her to meet him and then it would all go smoothly for him from there. Then there's also Miss. Diaz, it's rare that anyone ever suspects the best friend. That's what I think anyway.

I agree with you. That makes perfect sense.

I’m thinking more along the same lines as you. Sooo many pregnant women are murdered by the father of the baby. It’s so sad!

I rarely post comments unless it’s on ESPN’s site or Twitter however after watching the view and when reading the news on my phone all of the time...it seems that white women in the same predicament get a lot of national press and coverage...I commend those of you that are vigilant and keeping this story alive let’s all do this! Let’s find this QUEEN and her son!
